Never have I written a bad review but if this helps even one person then it’s worth it. Called Woodie’s to get a quote because we knew exactly what we needed to be done. Was told we had to pay for a diagnostic because “that’s how we do things here”. The diagnostic with photos resulted in exactly what we said plus an “extra” needed coolant flush. I asked him about this and he said that my coolant was dirty/ contaminated and needed to be replaced. Funny story I had an oil change and a coolant flush the day before (watched the technician take out the old and put in the new fluid). We were visiting family in Indian Trail, NC from Massachusetts when our car’s AC suddenly gave out—right in the middle of the summer heat! We first brought it to a dealer who quoted us a ridiculous price, but thankfully we found Woodie’s Auto Service. From the moment we spoke with Brian on the phone to working with Sean at the shop, the entire team was incredibly helpful, honest, and professional. As out-of-towners, we were worried we might be taken advantage of, but Woodie’s was more affordable and never tried to upsell or push unnecessary repairs. Being a female vechile owner and one with an older car it is hard to find service centers that don't try to upsale or overcharge for parts & labor and do quality work. That is why I keep coming back to Woodies. Before any work is done they send photos and what work is needed or recommended and dont proceed until after a phone call to discuss and give an out the door total price. Definitely recommend giving Woodies in Matthews a try for your next maintenance or tire needs.
